MetLife and ditech

In January of 2013, Green Tree/ditech purchased the mortgage servicing rights for a number of loan accounts from MetLife. You may have received a welcome package introducing us as your new loan servicer. As a previous MetLife Customer, your account is now being serviced by ditech. Welcome!

What does a transfer of mortgage servicing mean?

A transfer of servicing means that your prior servicer or lender has transferred the servicing of your mortgage (the right to collect payments), to another financial institution.

A mortgage transfer doesn’t mean that you have a poor quality loan or credit history. It simply means ditech will now prepare and send your statement, collect your mortgage payments, manage any escrow transactions, and provide all the Customer service for your mortgage.

Transitioning to ditech and your online account

Our loan conversion experts will transition your mortgage or loan into our system by following a transition timeline. Your account will be ready for you to access online in MyAccount shortly after your welcome letter arrives.

The transition process can take several days to complete. ditech wants to ensure the information we receive from MetLife is 100% accurate prior to transitioning the information into our system. ditech will waive any late fees from payments that are delayed during this transition period.
